With a new chef at the helm and a new Fall menu, Monarch Rooftop has made sure that you don’t have to forgo the rooftop scene just because summer has ended.
Atop the Midtown Marriott, Monarch affords a stunning view of the Empire State Building. And when the sun–and temperatures–go down, their fiery heat lamps ensure you can bask in the surrounding nightscape of the city buildings well into the evening. Though their cocktail menu will surely keep you warm too. Their new Fall cocktail offerings range from the garden party in your mouth that is the Tomato-Basil Martini to the Cozy n’ Caramel, featuring Irish whiskey, apple cider, and cinnamon-caramel syrup.
Monarch, the stylish rooftop bar on West 35th Street in New York City is having a Pumpkin Carving Contest on Saturday, October 24th from 2pm to 6pm. Patrons of all ages can enter the contest, with no fee, and take in the sights of the Empire State Building and midtown Manhattan.
It’s no secret that outdoor dining and drinking space is a hot commodity in New York City. When that outside space is in the form of a rooftop, locals and tourists alike flock to sip, dine and mingle high above the city streets.
Best Dish: The flatbread was absolutely delicious. The dollop of marscapone was a sweet surprise and paired well with the light balsamic drizzle and prosciutto.
Overall: Monarch is an impressive space and an ideal venue for a first date. The cozy seating, soft lighting and relaxed atmosphere will melt away the first date jitters easily. The space is also great for entertaining out of town guests, the view coupled with the decor will leave your visitors speechless.
While the fall chill in the air forces most of us back into rathskellar cocoons for libations and appetizers, one lounge in midtown is heating up their spacious outdoor patio with a structure that still lets you party outside for sunsets and moon drenched nights as well as spectacular city views. This Saturday, October 24th, Monarch Rooftop Lounge is hosting a pumpkin carving contest (no fee to enter) from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. The winner of the contest will win tickets to watch The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade from Monarch’s attractive perch above midtown, Macy’s and the parade route.
